Synopsis:
Notorious “wild child” Sasha Sheppard, the sister of the
first woman President of the United States Ingrid Sheppard, is suspected
of committing three gruesome murders. The fact that important evidence
was leaked immediately to the newspapers has Ingrid suspicious that
there are people who will stop at nothing, including framing her sister,
to get to her and prevent her from winning a second term in the White
House.
Or is it possible that Sasha, whose life has been spinning out of
control for years, actually committed the murders? Guilty or not,
Sasha needs help and Ingrid immediately calls on her best friend and
renowned defense attorney Sidney DeRoche. Sidney is shocked and torn,
but can’t refuse to help her best friend even though Sasha is the
woman who broke her heart. As President of the United States, Ingrid
Sheppard has begun to make a significant difference in a country whose
people no longer believe in their government. To restore the people's
faith and pride of country, and to accomplish her agenda, Ingrid needs
another term in office. If defending Sasha will accomplish that, Sidney
will put aside her personal feelings and do the job she does so well.
Other dangers threaten. There has been an assassination attempt on
Ingrid's life. Liberty Starr, once the deadliest assassin and agent
to work for the government, has been asked to come out of seclusion.
Her assignment is to protect the first family, including Sasha, and
find out who is trying to kill the president. Could the murders and
the attempt on the President's life be connected? Twists and turns
take the story on a sequence of events that pit Liberty against an
old foe, someone who might be better at the game than she is. Will
an assassin be able to find an assassin before tragedy consumes both
sisters and the many lives they touch? Or will Liberty be the one
who ultimately pays the highest price of all?
